The ClickUp toolkit lets agents browse workspaces (teams), spaces, folders, and lists; create and update tasks and subtasks; work with comments and custom fields; and read goals and time entries. Authentication is per-user OAuth — each user connects their own ClickUp account. Add it on the agent Toolkits tab. The first use prompts the user to connect ClickUp if they have not already.

Prerequisites

  • ClickUp access to the workspaces the agent should use
  • An agent you can edit
  • ClickUp OAuth configured for your organization (admin)
  • Users who will chat with the agent must complete the ClickUp OAuth connect flow when prompted

Setup

  1. Open the agent → Toolkits → add ClickUp.
  2. Optionally set default workspace, space, or list in toolkit config.
  3. Save the agent. In Chat, connect ClickUp when prompted.
  4. @-mention ClickUp tools in the personality prompt for task and project work.

Use cases

  • Triage or create tasks from chat in a default list
  • Summarize open tasks in a space or list
  • Add comments or update status after an investigation
  • Pull time summaries for reporting

Tips

  • Start with Get Teams → spaces → lists to discover IDs before creating tasks.
  • Defaults for workspace/space/list in config reduce repeated IDs in chat.
  • Access is limited to what the connected ClickUp user can see and edit.
  • For Asana or Jira instead, use those toolkits.
